Every year I tell myself I'm going to be more prepared next year, I dream of finished hand made gifts waiting to be wrapped for the holidays when Thanksgiving rolls around. Every year I tell myself I'll start earlier. Every year I find myself saying, "oh no, I'm not ready". Time for fingers to fly and shopping to be done.
Seems like a good time for a sale. Get 15% off your order now through December 1, 2013 when you enter HOLIDAY in the coupon code field. Code should work on Ravelry, Etsy and Teri Crews Designs. Sorry, just can't seem to make it work on Craftsy.
I had a great vacation in beautiful California a couple weeks ago. When I got home, I picked up my crochet hook, but then got distracted...
I have a new toy, sure didn't need it, not like I don't have enough to keep me busy with patterns, knitting and the holidays quickly approaching, but just couldn't resist any longer. This absolutely proves I am a fiber fanatic! Spinner, knitter, crocheter, pattern designer and now...weaver.
My new toy: 32" Ashford Rigid Heddle Loom. Still in learning mode. Loving it though. Currently taking Deborah Jarchow's Crafty Class. It's amazing what I'll go through to weave a beautiful dish towel.
In between weaving (or learning to weave, mostly warping and re-warping my loom), I'm also finishing up a new pattern. Hoping I'll be able to show you the finished product soon.
Love this picture sent to me by a proud grandma and great crocheter.
Some of you have asked for smaller toys and stitched/embroidered eyes instead of safety eyes.
I'm thrilled to introduce the first pattern in my new "Little" collection. This cute ted uses worsted weight yarn and a size E (3.5 mm) hook. You will need to know basic crochet stitches and how to crochet in the round to finish your ted. Finished size approx, 6 and 1/2" from top of head to bottom of feet (not counting ears).
Pattern includes detailed instructions (in English) a materials list, photos and notes and tips to help you finish your bear.
New photos for help stitching eyes have also been added to the tutorials page here.
Use appliques to embellish bags, notebooks, tags, book marks, cards, presents, scrapbook pages. Use them as ornaments, add magnets or pin backs. Hot glue them to flip flops, barrettes and headbands, sew them to clothes, slippers, etc. The possibilities are endless and their darn cute.
Patterns include written instructions for applique, materials list, photos and notes and tips to help you finish your appliques. Patterns use basic crochet stitches, i.e. single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, etc. You will need to know how to crochet in the round to finish appliques. Skill level = advanced beginner-intermediate.
Priced at $2.99 each

So fun, there will be definitely be more appliques soon. Thinking of new ones faster then I can crochet them.
I took these pictures back in September when we headed to Jefferson, Wisc. for the annual Wool and Sheep Festival. It was a fun day with good friends and lots of fiber. One of the best parts of the day was seeing all the new babies (and I mean new, this baby is just a few minutes old).
Perfect for trips to Grandma's house. Made with worsted weight yarn (two strands held together), a J hook and basic crochet stitches. Please remember, yarn stretches so unless you plan on lining your bag and straps, I wouldn't put anything real heavy in your Teddy Bear Back Pack.
I hate writing this, but I don't want my customers (or anyone for that matter) to get taken advantage of or mislead. There was a copy of one of my patterns on eBay this week...I don't sell patterns on eBay. Needless to say, the buyer paid more then she needed to for something that she soon discovered was stolen. "Buyers beware", a good old saying.
